Chocolate
Festival at the Village Gallery
Saturday
and Sunday, March 3 & 4
Fairfax
City hosts its annual Chocolate Festival this weekend. While we are
not an official part of their program, we have found that by offering
chocolate treats and keeping our doors open, we attract a lot of
visitors. We had over 200 visitors one day. This year we plan to do
the same, but need the help of our members. Members, please donate a
chocolate treat and sign up to sit a shift at the gallery this
weekend.

Presbyterian One-Day Show
Sunday,
April 15 (time and theme TBA)
For
the second year, the Providence Presbyterian Church (9019 Little
River Turnpike) has asked us to participate in a one-day celebration
they are hosting. This event attracts hundreds of people and
resulted in a number of art sales last year. The church also handed
out a number of awards and cash prizes to our artists. In order to
participate, you must be able to deliver you artwork on April 14th,
the day before the show and take it home after the show (or arrange
to have someone do it for you.) There is no hanging fee, but
participants are expected to sign up for a 2-hour sitting shift that
day. If you are interested in participating in this show, please
contact the show's coordinator: Kathleen Stark at
landkstark@verizon.net
Heritage
Festival
Saturday,
May 5 from 6:00-10:00

The
Heritage Festival was a great success last year and one of our most
popular parties. It's a celebration of ethnic diversity. Much of
the artwork will feature the cultural backgrounds of our artists.
There will be dancers and live music, including the local Irish band,
Sior Og. Refreshments will be served and there will be a wine bar.
