Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Village Gallery there will be an artist demonstration by Amy Shawley.
Virginia based visual artist Amy Shawley is inspired by the natural world around her and incorporates fauna, flora, landscapes and textures in her work. After earning her Art History degree, Golden Artists Colors selected her for their Working Artist Program.
Amy will present the Golden Paints lecture/demo, a two hour free educational program on paint that covers a broad range of acrylic products and gives a brief introduction to Williamsburg Oils and QoR Watercolors. The lecture covers pigment properties, paint formations, gels, pastes, grounds, color mixing, drying time, health and safety concerns pigment properties and more. The demonstration will enrich your understanding of the medium and teach you how to mix paints with gels and pastes to create exciting textures. Be inspired to include these materials in your own work. Attendees will receive a literature packet and small packet of paint to take home.
