The arts come together in the closing week of the 4 Artists: Poetry & Painting show. In this fusion of painting and poetry, we experiment and explore. Sometimes, we illustrate; sometimes we disconnect. The poem becomes the painting, the painting is the poem. Or not. Don’t miss the magic between word and visual, thought and image, the heard and the seen.
Performing Knowledge Project presents “The Raven” and “Eureka” by Edgar Allan Poe, the first two parts of a three part series, Embodying Poe: Poetry on Film. Directed by Yitna Firdyiwek, with cinematography by Aashish Edakadampil and music by Doug Fraser, both pieces star Robert Michael Oliver, who recreates performances from his one-man show, Embodying Poe, at the 2011 Capital Fringe Festival. Part three of the series, “Silence: a Fable”, goes into production this Fall. For more information about the Poetry on Film project, or to donate to the project, go to performingknowledge.org.
The evening begins at 7 pm, with refreshments and music, followed by poetry readings by artists and poets.
All are welcome.
