• A quick overview of paper types and surfaces.
• Realism vs. abstraction and non-representational drawing.
• Geometry, simplification, and breaking subjects into manageable forms.
· Mark making and the significance of fluid line work
• Tight drawing exercises focused on control and observation.
• Playful experimental drawing exercises.
• Drawing from imagination exercises and take-home prompts.

Artist Bio:

Hi, I’m Brando. I’ve been drawing for 30 years, most of that time filling sketchbooks from imagination. I graduated FSU with a degree in graphic design studying various printing techniques, figure drawing, and design courses. I began drawing academically in 2021, with a strong focus on figure drawing. I love experimenting with abstraction, emotion, and pushing materials in unconventional ways. I started teaching in 2022 and currently run the life drawing program for Del Ray Artisans (DRA).
