Participants will be introduced to exercises to try out various techniques including under-painting and adding detail to paintings. The sessions will focus on sketching, achieving color contrast, the use of brushwork, how to achieve color in light and shadow, how to carve in negative shapes and how to add finishing touches. About the Artist:
A creative and accomplished artist, Atti earned a B.F.A. in painting and design in Rome, Italy. As a student she traveled through Europe delving into museums and taking art classes. Atti has worked with many materials and different processes including oil, acrylic, spray paint, collage and texture.
Her new-found love of mixed media stems from her innate love of texture and her ability to create movement with different materials. Five summers ago, while feeling the earth and cold water beneath her feet in Emerald Island, North Carolina, Atti developed her new style - incorporating colorful shells, sand , and other natural substances into her artwork with oil and acrylics and other mediums. Mother Nature became her medium as she transforms these gems into sculptural wall hangings.
